PassRun - Korean Cuisine Cook, hereinafter "the App", is a study app for the Korean Cuisine Cook (한식조리기능사) written examination. The developer takes your privacy seriously and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea and other applicable laws. This policy explains what information the App collects and uses.
| App name | 한식조리기능사 필기 - 패스런 (PassRun - Korean Cuisine Cook) |
|---|---|
| Package name (Android) / Bundle ID (iOS) | kr.passrun.itpro |
The App requires no account or login and does not ask for personal data such as your name, email address or phone number in order to study.
The App collects the information below only if you choose to write and submit an enquiry on the "Academy" screen. If you never submit an enquiry, no personal data is collected.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Collected (required) | Name, phone number, enquiry type, enquiry message |
| Collected (optional) | Email address, preferred region |
| Sent together with it | The anonymous identifier issued by the App (section 3), app package name and version, operating system (Android/iOS), whether you consented to the collection of personal data, and the submission timestamp |
| How it is collected | You type it into the in-app enquiry form and submit it |
| Purpose | Replying to enquiries about practical-exam courses, state-funded training and job placement; checking and fixing reported question errors |
| Retention period | 6 months after the enquiry is resolved, after which it is destroyed without delay. |
| How consent is given | You tick the consent checkbox before submitting |
You may decline to consent. In that case only the enquiry feature is unavailable — every study feature continues to work normally.
When you submit an enquiry, the App obtains a random identifier (UID) through anonymous sign-in with Google Firebase Authentication.
The App shows Google AdMob ads (a bottom banner, an interstitial after a mock exam is marked, native ads inside list screens, and an app-open ad when the App starts or returns to the foreground). In doing so Google may automatically collect and process the following in order to serve ads and prevent fraud.
Google collects and processes this data directly; the developer only sees aggregated performance reports in which individuals cannot be identified. For details on how Google handles this data, see:
Turning it off inside the app. The Settings → Ads → Personalized ads switch lets you turn personalisation off at any time (on by default). Ads still appear; only the personalisation based on the advertising identifier stops, and non-personalised ads are served instead.
iOS tracking permission (ATT). Under the App Tracking Transparency policy, on iOS the App shows an explanation of why tracking is used on first launch and then presents the system tracking prompt. If you do not allow tracking, the App never accesses the IDFA and only non-personalised ads are shown. You can change this choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
GDPR consent (EEA/UK). In regions where the GDPR or similar laws apply, on first launch the App collects your consent to ad data use through Google's consent form (User Messaging Platform); without consent only non-personalised ads are served. You can review, change or withdraw this consent at any time in App Settings → Ads → Manage ad consent.
You can also limit personalised advertising in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads / iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking).
The anonymous usage statistics the App collects are described separately in §4-1 below.
To improve question quality and app features, the App collects the anonymous information below and sends it to Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) and to PostHog. It contains nothing that identifies you personally, and the study records in §1 are never transmitted.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Collected | Anonymous identifier (the UID in §3 — randomly issued, not linked to an account or name) App usage events (screen views, study and mock-exam progress, ad impressions/clicks, etc.) Per-question correct/incorrect counts (which questions are missed most often) App package name, operating system (Android/iOS), timestamp |
| Purpose | Analysing question errors and difficulty, funnel and retention analysis, feature improvement |
| Retention | Until the statistical purpose is achieved (kept in a form that cannot identify individuals) |
This anonymous collection is always on and the App has no switch to turn it off. Because only non-identifying information is collected, this notice takes the place of a separate consent step. If you want the collection or the transfer stopped, contact us at the address in §12; every study feature keeps working either way.
The developer entrusts processing as follows, for handling enquiries and serving ads.
| Processor | Entrusted work |
|---|---|
| Google LLC (Firebase Authentication) | Issuing the anonymous identifier that distinguishes enquiry authors |
| Google LLC (Cloud Firestore) | Storing and managing academy enquiries |
| Google LLC (AdMob) | Serving ads in the App and measuring ad performance |
| PostHog, Inc. (PostHog Cloud US) | Storing and analysing the anonymous usage statistics in §4-1 |
Each processor handles the information only within the scope of the entrusted purpose.
The processor named in section 5 is Google LLC (United States), and enquiries may be stored and processed in data centres operated by Google outside Korea.
| Recipient | Google LLC (regions operated by Google, including the United States) |
|---|---|
| Items transferred | The enquiry items listed in section 2 |
| Purpose | Storing and managing enquiry data; serving ads |
| Method | Sent from the App over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) |
| Retention | Same as section 2 |
You may refuse the overseas transfer simply by not using the enquiry feature. The study features remain fully usable with no information leaving the country.
The anonymous usage statistics in §4-1 are transferred and stored overseas as follows. The transferred information contains nothing that identifies you personally.
| Recipient | PostHog, Inc. (privacy@posthog.com) |
|---|---|
| Country | United States (PostHog Cloud US, us.i.posthog.com) |
| Items transferred | The items in §4-1 — anonymous identifier, app usage events, app package name and platform |
| Purpose | Usage statistics and product analytics |
| Method | Sent over encrypted communication (HTTPS) as each event occurs |
| Retention | Same as §4-1 |
This overseas transfer always takes place and the App offers no switch to stop it individually. To request that it stop, contact us at the address in §12.
The developer does not sell or provide your personal data to third parties. However, if you request to be connected with an academy, the minimum information needed for the consultation may be passed to that institution after we have separately informed you and obtained your consent.
You may at any time request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of the processing of your personal data. Contact us at the address below and we will act without delay. We may confirm the name and phone number you entered in the enquiry to verify your identity.
The App is intended for national technical qualification study and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 14.

The App does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos or external storage permissions.
The App can send a daily study reminder to help you keep going. It is a local notification scheduled on your device, not a push message sent from a server. No device token, contact detail or any other information is collected or sent anywhere for it.
Please send any privacy-related enquiries to the address below and we will reply without delay.
If this policy changes, we will announce it in the app update notes or on this page.
This policy takes effect on 20 August 2026.
