PassRun - Industrial Safety Engineer Exam Privacy Policy

Effective: August 20, 2026 (first effective August 3, 2026)

PassRun - Industrial Safety Engineer Exam ("the app") is a study app for the Korean Industrial Safety Engineer written exam. We value your privacy and comply with applicable laws including the Korean Personal Information Protection Act. This policy explains what the app collects and how it is used.

1. No account, no personal information input

The app has no sign-up or login, and has no feature that asks for your name, email, phone number or any other personal information.

2. Anonymous statistics

To improve question quality and operate the service, the app sends the following anonymous information to Google Firebase and PostHog. It contains nothing that identifies you personally.

ItemDetails
Collected A randomly generated anonymous identifier (not linked to any account or name)
Per-question right/wrong aggregates (which questions are missed often)
App usage events (screen usage, ad impressions/clicks)
PurposeQuestion error/difficulty analysis, feature improvement, service statistics
RetentionUntil the statistical purpose is fulfilled (kept in non-identifiable form)

This anonymous collection is always on and the app has no switch to turn it off. Because only non-identifying information is collected, this notice takes the place of a separate consent step. If you want the collection stopped, contact us at the address below; study features remain fully available either way.

3. Information collected automatically by advertising

The app shows Google AdMob ads (banner, and one interstitial right after a mock exam is graded). Google may automatically collect and process the following to serve ads and prevent fraud:

On iOS the app asks for tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency) on first launch. If you allow it, personalised ads using the advertising identifier (IDFA) are shown; if you decline, the IDFA is not accessed and non-personalised ads are shown. Every feature of the app remains available either way. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and personalised ads can also be turned off in the app under Settings → Ads.

In Europe (EEA/UK) a Google UMP (User Messaging Platform) consent form appears before any ad is shown, and you can revisit your choice in the app under Settings → Ads → Ad privacy options.

You can limit personalized ads in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads / iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking).

3-1. Study reminder (local notification)

The once-a-day study reminder is a local notification that runs entirely on your device. It is not a server push, and nothing is collected or transmitted for it. The system notification permission is used only if you grant it, and the reminder can be turned off anytime in the app under Settings → Notifications.

4. Processing delegation

Google LLC (Firebase / Cloud Firestore) Storage and management of anonymous usage/question statistics
Google LLC (AdMob) In-app ad serving and performance measurement

4-1. Cross-border transfer of anonymous statistics

Part of the anonymous statistics in Section 2 is transferred abroad for product analytics. Nothing personally identifiable is included.

This transfer takes place at all times and the app has no switch to stop it individually. To request that it stop, contact us at the address below; study features remain fully available either way.

The transfer constitutes processing delegation necessary to provide and improve the service. Under Article 28-8(1)3 of the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea, it is carried out by disclosing the transferred items, country, timing, method, purpose and retention period in this policy — no separate consent is obtained for each transfer.

5. Third-party provision

We do not sell or provide your personal information to third parties.

6. Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing at any time via the contact below. Locally stored study records can be deleted directly in the app settings.
