"전기기사산업기사 필기 - 패스런" (the "App") is a study app for Korea's national Electrical Engineer (전기기사) and Electrical Industrial Engineer (전기산업기사) written exams. The developer takes your privacy seriously and complies with the Korean Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws. This policy explains what information the App collects and how it is used.
| App name | 전기기사산업기사 필기 - 패스런 |
|---|---|
| Package name (Android) / Bundle ID (iOS) | kr.passrun.electriceng |
The App has no sign-up or login. It does not ask for personal information such as your name, email address or phone number in order to study.
The following data is collected only if you write and send an inquiry on the "Training" screen. If you do not send an inquiry, no personal data is collected.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Collected (required) | Name, phone number, inquiry type, message |
| Collected (optional) | Email address, preferred region |
| Sent together | Anonymous identifier issued by the App (see §3), app package name and version, operating system (Android/iOS), submission time |
| Method | Entered directly by you in the in-app form and submitted |
| Purpose | Replying to inquiries about practical-exam courses, state-funded training and job placement; checking and fixing reported question errors |
| Retention | Destroyed immediately once the consultation is completed. This matches the notice shown on the in-app consent screen. |
| Consent | You tick the consent checkbox before the inquiry is sent |
You may decline to consent. In that case only the inquiry feature is unavailable; every study feature continues to work normally.
If saving the inquiry fails (for example due to a network error), the App offers to open your device's mail app so you can send the same content to the support address below. In that case you decide whether to actually send it.
When an inquiry is sent, the App obtains a random identifier (UID) through anonymous sign-in with Google Firebase Authentication.
The App shows Google AdMob ads (bottom banner, interstitial after grading, native ads in list screens, and an app-open ad on launch). In this process Google may automatically collect and process the following data to serve ads and prevent fraud.
This data is collected and processed directly by Google; the developer only sees aggregated ad performance reports from which individuals cannot be identified. For details, see:
The App asks on first launch whether to allow personalised ads (default: allow). You can change it at any time in Settings → Personalized ads.
| Choice | What happens |
|---|---|
| Allow (default) | Ads are matched to your interests using an advertising identifier. On iOS the App then asks for App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission. |
| Don't allow | Ad requests are sent flagged as non-personalized. Ads still appear, but
without interest-based matching, and the iOS ATT prompt is not shown. |
Study and mock-exam features work identically either way. You can also limit personalised ads in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads / iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking). On iOS, if you do not allow tracking the App does not access the IDFA and non-personalised ads are shown.
The anonymous usage statistics the App collects are described separately in §4-1 below.
To improve question quality and app features, the App collects the anonymous information below and sends it to Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) and to PostHog. It contains nothing that identifies you personally, and the study records in §1 are never transmitted.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Collected | Anonymous identifier (the UID in §3 — randomly issued, not linked to an account or name) App usage events (screen views, study and mock-exam progress, ad impressions/clicks, etc.) Per-question correct/incorrect counts (which questions are missed most often) App package name, operating system (Android/iOS), timestamp |
| Purpose | Analysing question errors and difficulty, funnel and retention analysis, feature improvement |
| Retention | Until the statistical purpose is achieved (kept in a form that cannot identify individuals) |
This anonymous collection is always on and the App has no switch to turn it off. Because only non-identifying information is collected, this notice takes the place of a separate consent step. If you want the collection or the transfer stopped, contact us at the address in §12; every study feature keeps working either way.
The developer entrusts processing as follows in order to receive inquiries and serve ads.
| Processor | Entrusted work |
|---|---|
| Google LLC (Firebase Authentication) | Issuing an anonymous identifier to distinguish inquiry authors |
| Google LLC (Cloud Firestore) | Storing and managing training-centre inquiries |
| Google LLC (AdMob) | Serving in-app ads and measuring ad performance |
| PostHog, Inc. (PostHog Cloud US) | Storing and analysing the anonymous usage statistics in §4-1 |
Processors handle the information only within the scope of the entrusted purpose.
The processor in §5 is Google LLC (United States); inquiries may be stored and processed in Google-operated data centres outside Korea.
| Recipient | Google LLC (regions operated by Google, including the United States) |
|---|---|
| Items transferred | The inquiry items listed in §2 |
| Purpose | Storing and managing inquiry data; serving ads |
| Method | Transmitted from the App over encrypted communication (HTTPS) |
| Retention | Same as §2 |
You may refuse the overseas transfer by simply not using the inquiry feature. Study features remain fully usable with no information transferred abroad.
The anonymous usage statistics in §4-1 are transferred and stored overseas as follows. The transferred information contains nothing that identifies you personally.
| Recipient | PostHog, Inc. (privacy@posthog.com) |
|---|---|
| Country | United States (PostHog Cloud US, us.i.posthog.com) |
| Items transferred | The items in §4-1 — anonymous identifier, app usage events, app package name and platform |
| Purpose | Usage statistics and product analytics |
| Method | Sent over encrypted communication (HTTPS) as each event occurs |
| Retention | Same as §4-1 |
This overseas transfer always takes place and the App offers no switch to stop it individually. To request that it stop, contact us at the address in §12.
The developer does not sell or provide your personal data to third parties. However, if you request to be connected with a training centre, the minimum information necessary for the consultation may be passed to that institution after separately informing you and obtaining your consent.
You may at any time request access, correction, deletion or suspension of processing of your personal data. Contact us at the address below and we will act without delay. We may verify the name and phone number you entered with your inquiry to confirm your identity.
The App is intended for national technical qualification study and does not intentionally collect personal data from children under 14.
Anonymous usage statistics can be viewed only by administrators with granted access, and every transmission is encrypted with HTTPS.
